I love New Westminster, and I care
about the people in our community.

In the last election, I said we could reduce street homelessness in New Westminster, and street homelessness has been reduced by 45%. As chair of the Environment Advisory Committee, I’ve worked to implement the city’s Green Plan, and as Chair of the Seniors Advisory Committee, worked to ensure that there will be more senior friendly housing and safer streets. I’m a strong proponent of our city’s economic development, and want to ensure that all citizens benefit.
My commitment is that I will continue to work hard, show respect for different needs, and listen to the community.
I’m your neighbour, and I want to work for you.

I’m working hard for your vote. I’m trying to run a campaign with as little impact on the environment as possible. You may have caught a glimpse of my favourite campaign strategy: Neil, the bicycle guy.
If you’ve missed the all-candidates meetings or would like to know how I’m responding to questions, here’s what’s available online:
10th to the Fraser Candidate Questionnaire - Jaimie McEvoy values proactive planning, financial due diligence and blue-sky thinking…
New Westminster Environmental Partners Candidate Questionnaire - Sustainability is action and awareness of the impact of our actions today on the health, environment and future on ourselves and generations to come…
I hope to catch you at home as I door-knock my way through New Westminster.
As a City Councillor, you have to understand everything you can about how a City runs. Fire fighters are a critical part of New Westminster city services. Getting the chance to put myself in the shoes of the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our city was a high point for me.

Jaimie is a strong advocate of public health care. In fact, he wrote a book about the history of health care in New Westminster.
The Life and Destruction of Saint Mary’s Hospital covers the founding of Saint Mary’s Hospital in 1887 by the Sisters of Providence, how the hospital survived the Great Fire of 1898, and the controversy that closed Saint Mary’s doors forever in 2004, after 117 years of faithful and compassionate service. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Saint Mary’s Health Foundation of New Westminster, which continues to support compassionate health care in hospitals.
